NASPO and The Green Electronics Council (GEC) are co-hosting a 1-hour webinar on July 11, at 2 p.m. EST that showcases NASPO ValuePoint inclusion of sustainability in one of its most prominent IT portfolios: “Computer Equipment, Peripherals & Related Services.” GEC’s flagship program is EPEAT, which is the leading Type-1 ecolabel across the globe. In 2018 alone, more than 640,000 unique EPEAT products were purchased through NVP contracts, resulting in the avoidance of more than 121,941 metric tons of CO2 equivalents, 59,670 metric tons of avoided waste, reduction in the use of 201,350 MWh of electricity and $20.7M in cost savings.
This webinar will feature a panel of representatives from NVP, GEC, and Minnesota, the lead states for the NVP computer contract. The webinar will convey the power of cooperative purchasing and ways in which it can be harnessed to promote sustainability. Topics covered will include:
- An overview of NVP and NASPO efforts to promote sustainability. The NVP cooperative harnessed enormous purchasing power and was able to leverage that power to encourage the purchase of more sustainable products through the use of EPEAT.
- An overview of GEC and the EPEAT ecolabel. GEC will discuss EPEAT’s scope, impact, credibility, and tools that help purchasers to quickly implement and measure benefits such as avoided GHG emission, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- A review of specific portfolios that specify the use of EPEAT and commentary from MN the lead state for the NVP computer contract.
AND MUCH MUCH MORE!
